How to Convert and Configure a Controller as a Collaborator

How to Convert and Configure a Controller as a Collaborator

Overview
This guide details the process of converting a controller into a collaborator within specific systems. Follow these steps to enable your controller to work in harmony with other system components, enhancing overall functionality and system integration.

Steps to Convert a Controller to a Collaborator

Access the System Interface

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your laptop is connected to the controller's Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open Web Browser: Open a web browser and navigate to setup.trafficalm.com.

  1. Enter Credentials: Use the following credentials:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: Tr@ffiCalm
  2. Customer Support: Contact customer support if you haven't received these credentials or are experiencing login issues.

Converting to a Collaborator

  1. Select Advanced Page: In the upper right corner, click on the 'Advanced' page.
  2. Change to Collaborator: Select the "Change to a Collaborator" option.
  3. Verify Changes: Confirm the changes when a popup occurs.
  4. Confirmation: TC Connect will confirm that the change has occurred.

Note: The system may take up to 60 seconds for this process to complete. This will erase all settings and disable the wireless and setup wizard.

Reversing the Conversion

To revert the settings back to a controller from a collaborator:

  1. Warning: This process will reverse the setting back to a controller from a collaborator by intentionally shorting Input 2.
  2. Remove Power Plug: Disconnect the green phoenix connector that is connected to BATT.
  3. Install Wire Jumper: Place a wire jumper on INPUT2.
  4. Power On: Reconnect the power and wait until you see the Red LED go solid for 2 seconds (takes about 7 seconds to initiate).
  5. Power Down: Disconnect the power and remove the jumper.
  6. Restart and Configure: Restart the unit and configure it as a controller.

Note: System Compatibility

This conversion process is applicable only to GEN4 and DEOTS systems. Ensure your system matches these specifications before proceeding to avoid any operational issues.
