How to Pair the Activation FOB (Formerly Firehouse FOB) with Controllers
Overview
This guide provides detailed instructions on how to pair the Activation FOB (formerly known as the Firehouse FOB) with controllers, enhancing system connectivity and operational efficiency.
Prerequisites
- Activation FOB: Ensure the FOB's Meshnet IDs match those of the controller(s) you are pairing it with.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Accessing the System
- Launch TC Connect: Open the TC Connect software.
- Navigate to Setup: Select the menu key and choose 'Setup'.
Configuration Settings
- Choose System Type: Opt for an 'All-Flash', 'Input-Operated' system configuration.
Registering the FOB
Enter FOB Details:
- Locate the Collab ID inside the Activation FOB’s battery compartment.
- Enter this ID into the Collaborators list.
Add Collaborators:
- Initially, add all necessary collaborators to the list, excluding the Activation FOB.
Activating the FOB
Activate the FOB:
- Press the button on the top of the Activation FOB to turn it on (a beep will confirm activation).
- Immediately press the 'Save and Continue' button in TC Connect to register collaborators while the FOB is active.
Testing the Connection
Test the System:
- After receiving a confirmation message that the system setup is complete, test the functionality by pressing the Activation FOB’s button.
Finalizing Setup
Optimize the Collaborator List:
- Since fire trucks frequently enter and leave the system, streamline the collaborator list for efficiency.
- Return to settings, navigate to the Collaborator list, and remove the Activation FOB by selecting the red 'X' next to the FOB’s Collab ID.
- Continue saving settings until the end of the process.
Confirm Removal:
- Although the Activation FOB is removed from the list, it will still operate the system as intended.
Conclusion
By following these steps, the Activation FOB will be effectively paired with your controller(s), enhancing the operational capabilities of your fire safety systems. This setup ensures that the FOB can be used reliably without the system continuously scanning for a non-present collaborator, optimizing both system performance and resource allocation. For additional assistance or troubleshooting, consult the TC Connect user manual or contact technical support.
