Guide to Using Wi-Fi and Control FOBs for TraffiCalm Flashing Sign Systems

Note: This guide details the functions and usage of different FOB types for TraffiCalm Flashing Sign Systems, including Wi-Fi Reset, Toggle, and Activation FOBs. Each section describes the features and compatibility to help you effectively manage your signage operations. Refer to the Table of Contents to find specific information.


Wi-Fi Reset FOB: M75-SABRA-000W

Overview

Model M75-SABRA-000W: This FOB is designed to wake up any compatible controller within range, activating Wi-Fi for 2 hours. This feature allows for programming the sign or downloading data without needing physical access to the device, making it ideal for sales, tech support, and key customers.

  • TraffiCalm Gen4 Intelligent Controller: Yes
  • TraffiCalm Gen3 Intelligent Controllers: Yes
  • TraffiCalm Gen2 Intelligent Controllers: Only for the MESH SCRIPT 220 or later, Yes
  • TraffiCalm Gen1 Controllers: No
  • TraffiCalm Basic Controllers: No

Additional Details

  • Factory pairing of the FOB with controllers is not required.
  • Internal Information:
    • Basic controllers using 013-SASQP board (Gen2) are not compatible.
    • Gen 1 Controllers with RF220 MNCV110F, G, or H Scripts are compatible.


Toggle FOB: M75-SABRA-000T

Overview

Model M75-SABRA-000T: Pressing this FOB activates or deactivates a controller and associated collaborators, causing the sign to flash 24/7 or stop based on the number of presses. It is particularly useful for maintenance or emergency personnel managing critical sign functions like ice, flood warnings, and chain-up area notifications.

Additional Details

  • A Toggle FOB must be programmed to be "Toggle Fob Aware" before leaving the factory and must be on the same channel as the controller.  Each state is assigned a channel and setup by Trafficalm and are not universal.
  • Internal Information:
    • Basic controllers using 013-SASPQ board (Gen2) are not compatible.


Activation FOB: M75-SABRA-0000 

Overview

Model M75-SABRA-0000 (formerly known as the Firehouse FOB): This FOB activates the signs it is associated with, allowing them to flash for a set duration before stopping. It's commonly used in fire trucks to activate the system when returning to the firehouse.
