This guide details the process of adding a key switch to a controller or collaborator within specific systems. Follow these steps to enable your controller to work in harmony with other system components, enhancing overall functionality and system integration.

Steps to adding a key switch to a Controller or Collaborator

Choose a location for key switch installation

  1. Location: Ensure your chosen location will not interfere with internal components such as batteries or Controller mounts. Make sure there is enough cable coming from the key switch to reach input 1 on the control board. It is recommended to mount the key switch on the side of the control box. See example 1. 
  2. Drill: Drill a 5/8" diameter hole, make sure to remove any sharp edges afterwords
  3. Insert: Remove the ring nut from the key switch and inset the unit from the outside into the cabinet. reattach the ring nut and tighten completely. 
  4. Connect: Insert the 2 red wires coming from the key switch into the green terminal block for input 1. Wire positioning is irrelevant.

Example 1

Programming

  1. Power Cycle Controller: Remove power from the controller for 10 seconds. Plug back in.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi: wait 1-2 minutes for the controller to broadcast a Wi-Fi signal. The controller will flash a blue LED every 10 seconds to confirm Wi-Fi is broadcasting
  3. Log in: open an internet browser. Click on the address bar and navigate to "Setup.TraffiCalm.com". Enter your password (Same as Wi-Fi)
  4. Setup: If your system has already been setup, click setup and proceed to step "Operating Mode". Change the operating mode to "Input Operated". Continue all the way to save and finish.
