This guide details the process of adding a key switch to a controller or collaborator within specific systems. Follow these steps to enable your controller to work in harmony with other system components, enhancing overall functionality and system integration.
Steps to adding a key switch to a Controller or Collaborator
Choose a location for key switch installation
- Location: Ensure your chosen location will not interfere with internal components such as batteries or Controller mounts. Make sure there is enough cable coming from the key switch to reach input 1 on the control board. It is recommended to mount the key switch on the side of the control box. See example 1.
- Drill: Drill a 5/8" diameter hole, make sure to remove any sharp edges afterwords
- Insert: Remove the ring nut from the key switch and inset the unit from the outside into the cabinet. reattach the ring nut and tighten completely.
- Connect: Insert the 2 red wires coming from the key switch into the green terminal block for input 1. Wire positioning is irrelevant.
