The TraffiCalm ShipKit accompanies each flashing sign system shipment to provide all necessary mounting hardware. This inclusion ensures that customers have the required parts for various installation scenarios.

Note on Banding Brackets

Please note that not all components included in the ShipKit will be utilized in every installation. For example, the banding brackets designed for mounting on round poles are not applicable for installations using the Square Top of Pole Mount, leading to potential extra parts.

Installation

  1. Preparation and Setup:

    • Unpack your SHIPKIT and verify all parts listed are present.
    • Identify the installation site on a square perforated pole where the mount will be attached.

  2. Mounting the Top Square Pole Mount:

    • Use the 3/8 inch bolts from the SHIPKIT to attach the mount to the pole.
    • Align the slotted bolt holes on the mount with the pole's perforations to adjust the mount's vertical position as desired.

  3. Optional Wood Post Mounting:

    • If mounting to a wood post, procure appropriate lag bolts that suit the material and ensure stability and durability.

  4. Assembling Components:

    • Attach the hex threaded nipple, ensuring it is positioned to allow room for adjustments from either the top or bottom.
    • Secure the lock rings: the top ring with notches facing up to engage with the Flashing Sign Mount, and the bottom ring with notches facing down to align with the Top Square Pole Mount.

  5. Final Adjustments:

    • Before fully tightening the bolts, adjust the position to ensure optimal alignment and stability.
    • Once satisfied with the placement, tighten all connections to secure the mount firmly.

  6. Securing and Locking:

    • Install the Check Nut with the lock set screw using a 1/8th Allen head. Initially, remove the set screw to adjust and tighten the nut, then replace and secure the set screw in one of the two available positions to prevent loosening.

  7. Final Inspection and Setup Confirmation:

    • Conduct a thorough inspection to ensure everything is secure and correctly assembled.
    • Make any necessary adjustments for alignment and positioning to maximize the system's efficiency.
