Installing an LED Chevron Plate
Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing a TraffiCalm Chevron LED Plate. Unlike other TraffiCalm LED sign rings, the Chevron Plate uses shared mounting bolts with the sign for installation.
Required Components
- Chevron LED Plate
- Extended 3/8” bolts, washers, and nuts (supplied)
- 012-SA300-0KIT hardware kit (banding material not included)
- Banding material (if needed)
Installation Steps
Position the Chevron Plate
- Align the Chevron Plate with the sign, ensuring the mounting holes line up.
Secure with Extended Bolts
- Use the supplied extended 3/8” bolts, washers, and nuts to secure both the Chevron Plate and the sign to the pole.
Optional Banding Installation
- If using banding, install the hardware supplied in the 012-SA300-0KIT.
- Wrap the banding around the pole and through the banding hardware to secure the plate and sign.
Cable Management
- Ensure the cable from the Chevron Plate exits at the top edge to deter vandalism.
- Create a drip loop in the cable to prevent water ingress.
- Trim or stow excess cabling after all components have been assembled and tested.
System Setup Notes
Curve Warning Systems can be set up in various configurations to best suit the curve it is installed on.
- There is only one Controller in any Curve Warning System.
- All other sign post locations in the system will be powered by Collaborators.
Configuration Options
- Bi-directional, independent sequencing: Warn drivers in both directions.
- Radar activation from either direction: Independently fires sequencing away from the driver.
- Advanced Warning signs: Can be added at the entrance to the curve.
