Configuration Steps

Step 1: Naming the Device

  1. Enter Device Name:
    • Name your device based on its location. For example, "5th Street."
    • Choose a meaningful name for easy identification.

Step 2: Selecting Device Type

  1. Choose Device Type:

    • Options include:
      • Audible Talking Button
      • Standard Button
      • Crosswalk with Overhead Illuminator
    • Select the appropriate type for your installation. For this guide, we will use a standard device.
  2. Save and Continue.

Step 3: Setting Operating Mode

  1. Select Operating Mode:

    • Options include:
      • Input Button Operated
      • Flash 24/7
      • Day Only Use
      • Night Only Use
    • Choose "Input Button Operated" for a standard setup.
  2. Save and Continue.

Step 4: Configuring Brightness Settings

  1. Adjust Brightness:

    • Default settings should suffice for most installations.
    • If adjustments are needed, configure brightness settings accordingly.
  2. Save and Continue.

Step 5: Flash Pattern Settings

  1. Choose Flash Pattern:

    • Options include:
      • Standard Flash
      • Pulse Flash
      • RRFB Flash Pattern (Recommended)
    • Select "RRFB Flash Pattern" for an alternating left-right flash pattern.
  2. Set Hold Time:

    • Default is 10 seconds. Adjust based on the time needed to cross the street (e.g., 15 or 20 seconds).
  3. Save and Continue.

Step 6: Adding a Collaborator

  1. Add Collaborator:

    • Enter the Collaborator ID for the unit across the street.
    • Ensure the Collaborator ID is correctly entered.
  2. Save and Finish:

    • The system will take a few moments to communicate and configure settings with the Collaborator.
    • Ensure antennas are installed and pointing straight up for optimal communication.

Step 7: Final Configuration

  1. Verify Connection:

    • Ensure the system has found and set up the Collaborator.
    • Confirm by checking the LED indicators on the units.
  2. Adjust Flasher Hold Time (if needed):

    • Navigate to the setup page.
    • Cycle through the configuration steps until you reach the flasher hold time setting.
    • Adjust as necessary and save changes.

Validation

  1. Ensure Adequate Power:

    • Verify the system has 12.5 volts or greater to ensure proper operation.
  2. Test Communication:

    • Ensure all antennas are properly installed and that units are communicating effectively.
