Mounting Instructions

These universal mounting instructions apply to all 9" and 12" Value Series signs, as well as iQ900 and iQ1200 radar speed signs.
For iQ1500 and iQ1800 signs, which have built-in integrated mounting brackets, please refer to the specific instructions provided below.

  1. Bracket Attachment to Sign Chassis

    • Mount the bracket support to the rear of the chassis with the provided hardware. This is the bracket without the notch on the leading edge.
    • Insert the bolt, washer, and nut as shown in the diagram.

Round Post Installation

  1. Attach Bracket to Post: Place the notched end of the bracket against the round post, with the open end facing down.
  2. Secure with Banding: Wrap banding straps around the post and through the bracket slots, then tighten to secure the bracket firmly to the post.
  3. Position Sign: Lift the sign and align the top mounting holes of the sign bracket with the top part of the post-mounted bracket.
  4. Hang Sign: Slide the sign down onto the bracket, ensuring the notched end supports the sign securely.
  5. Secure Sign: Align the bottom mounting holes and secure with hardware or locks as needed.



Square Post Installation

  1. Attach Bracket to Post: Place the flat end of the bracket against the square post, with the notched end facing up.
  2. Secure with Bolts: Use bolts, washers, and nuts to secure the bracket through the pre-drilled holes in the post.
  3. Position Sign: Lift the sign and align the top mounting holes of the sign bracket with the top part of the post-mounted bracket.
  4. Hang Sign: Slide the sign down onto the bracket, ensuring the notched end supports the sign securely.
  5. Secure Sign: Align the bottom mounting holes and secure with hardware or locks as needed.





Important Notes
  • Ensure all bolts and hardware are tightened securely.
  • Be careful to keep fingers clear of the brackets as they come together to avoid pinch points.
  • When handling the edges of the sign and bracket, especially when attaching the sign onto the bracket, take extra care to avoid injury.

iQ1500 Mounting Instructions

The iQ1500 radar speed sign comes with a built-in bracket for mounting. If you require a quick-disconnect bracket, you will need to order both the pole and sign bracket.

General Notes

  • The drop-out module is removed to provide access for bolting to wood.
  • Traditional bolts are used when mounting to a square Telespar pole.
  • Banding is used when mounting to round poles.

Mounting to Wood

  1. Remove Drop-Out Module: Detach the drop-out module to access the mounting points on the back of the sign.
  2. Position Sign: Align the sign with the desired mounting location on the wooden surface.
  3. Pre-Drill Holes: Use template or measurements to align and pre-drill holes.
  4. Secure with Bolts: Insert lag bolts through the mounting holes and into the wood. Tighten securely.

Mounting to Square Telespar Pole

  1. Position Sign: Align the sign's built-in bracket with the Telespar pole.
  2. Insert Bolts: Use traditional bolts, washers, and nuts to secure the sign bracket to the pole.
  3. Tighten Bolts: Ensure all bolts are tightened securely for a stable installation.

Mounting to Round Poles

  1. Position Sign: Align the sign's built-in bracket with the round pole.
  2. Secure with Banding: Wrap banding straps around the pole and through the slots in the sign bracket.
  3. Tighten Banding: Ensure the banding is tight and the sign is securely attached to the pole.

iQ1800 Mounting Instructions

The iQ1800 radar speed sign comes with built-in brackets similar to the iQ1500 and does not offer a quick-disconnect bracket option.


General Notes

  • The module slides out to the left or right for easy acces during installation.
  • The iQ1800 has three mounting areas, allowing it to be mounted to a single pole or multiple poles.

Mounting to Wood

  1. Remove the Module: Slide the module out to the left or right to access the mounting points.
  2. Position the Sign: Align the sign with the desired mounting location on the wooden surface.
  3. Pre-Drill Holes: Use template or measurements to align and pre-drill holes.
  4. Secure with Bolts: Insert lag bolts through the mounting holes and into the wood. Tighten securely.

Mounting to Square Telespar Pole

  1. Position the Sign: Align the sign's built-in bracket with the Telespar pole.
  2. Insert Bolts: Use traditional bolts, washers, and nuts to secure the sign bracket to the pole.
  3. Tighten Bolts: Ensure all bolts are tightened securely for a stable installation.

  2. Secure with Banding: Wrap banding straps around the pole and through the slots in the sign bracket.
  3. Tighten Banding: Ensure the banding is tight and the sign is securely attached to the pole.

Portable Mounting Bracket

Installation Steps

  1. Attach Bracket to Post: Secure the bracket to the post using appropriate hardware (bolts for square poles, banding for round poles).
  2. Mount the Sign: Place the sign onto the bracket, ensuring it is properly aligned and securely attached.
  3. Secure Sign: Ensure all bolts are tightened securely. A lock may be used to secure the sign.
  4. Relocate as Needed: If moving the sign, simply detach it from the bracket and reattach it to a bracket at a new location.
