The SunSaver 10L or SunSaver 20L Solar Controller is designed to integrate with our Radar Speed Sign Solar kits.

This troubleshooting guide is applicable to all Radar Speed Sign Solar Kit models offered by TraffiCalm, designed to accommodate a variety of geographical locations with differing sunlight exposures:

  • 60 Watt / 35Ah Solar Kit (M75-SOLAR-000S) - Solar South Kit
  • 60 Watt / 70Ah Solar Kit (M75-SLR70-000C) - Solar Central Kit
  • 100 Watt / 70Ah Solar Kit (M75-SOLAR-000C) - Enhanced Solar Central Kit
  • 100 Watt / 140Ah Solar Kit (M75-SLR14-000N) - Solar North Kit
  • 150 Watt / 140Ah Solar Kit (M75-SOLAR-000N) - Enhanced Solar North Kit

LED Status Indicators

Indicator Color Status Meaning
Night or No Solar Input Off (flickers ON every 5 sec) Off No solar input detected; normal during night or extremely cloudy conditions.
Charging Green (heartbeat flicker) Flickers OFF every 5 sec Normal charging; solar input is active and functioning properly.
High Temp/Voltage Disconnect Red Flashing Overheating, overload, or high voltage disconnect detected. Check system conditions.
Sensor/Firmware Error Red Solid Potential sensor damage or firmware issues; requires diagnostic check.
Normal Battery with Load Green Fast Flash (2 sec) Battery is charged and providing power under normal conditions.
Low Battery Yellow Solid Battery is at half capacity; may need attention soon.
High Voltage Disconnect Red/Green Alternating High voltage detected; system disconnect to prevent damage.
High Temperature Disconnect Red/Yellow Alternating High temperature detected; system disconnect for safety.
Wiring Errors Red/Green - Yellow Alternating Wiring issues; check for shorts, reverse polarity, or overcurrent. No permanent damage.
Internal Temp Sensor Damage Red/Yellow/Green Alternating Internal temperature sensor may be damaged; check system health.
Low Voltage Disconnect Red Solid Low voltage detected; insufficient power to sustain operations.

Reset Procedure

  1. Verify and Correct Wiring:

    • Ensure all connections are properly made, especially the load and solar connections.
    • Check polarity carefully: the black wire with a white stripe is positive.

    • Disconnect solar panels and battery connections.

    • Reconnect the battery first, then solar panels.
